The City of Naples Stormwater Management Division works to regulate, manage and maintain stormwater drainage infrastructure and surface water bodies to meet growth management goals of flood prevention, groundwater recharge, wetland preservation and water quality protection effectively and efficiently.
The stormwater management function is critical to achieving the City’s current vision statement: “Naples shall remain a premier city by continuing to protect its natural resources, enhance city aesthetics, ensure public safety, and continue to improve the quality of life for all who live in the city and visit through the year”.
The Stormwater Utility Rate Study is being conducted to allow the city to generate sufficient revenue to fund the goals identified above. Through this Study, the city will develop a ten-year expense and revenue forecasting model for the Stormwater Utility and identify potential rate structure modifications that may increase equity and recognize creditable activities in the community.
This model will create scenario-based comparisons that identify short-term and long-term impacts of financial alternatives, provide a framework for scenario evaluation and sensitivity tests, and consider future cost requirements associated with the recently updated Stormwater Master Plan and subsequent Basin Studies to ensure financial sustainability.
